This bio amazonie necklace is a marvelous handmade work on water buffalo horn & bone, designed by Francois Delamare, a french designer living a long time in Amazonia. It is only a specimen of a set of several collections on buffalo horn & bone, jarina (a very hard seed), woods and ceramics. As a natural polymer, buffalo horn is a long life material that also shows to go very well with silver and/or gold. As a keratin, it is similar to those polymers found in quills, claws, nails, hooves, feathers, wool and hair.
Buffaloes are not dispatched only for their horns or bones. Horns and bones are bought from abattoirs.
These natural & organic body jewels are just wonderfull!
